September 2, 1963 to April 17, 2023

Tyler Dion Young, age 59, of Salt Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2023, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 2, 1963, in Vernal, Utah, to Nelson Leroy and Elaine Carillo Young. He married Geri Lynn Wood, and they later divorced.

Tyler was a graduate of West High School and then went to Utah Technical College and received certificates in diesel mechanics. He was a hard worker and had been with Yellow Freight, Pride Transport, and most recently, American Dairy Farmers Transport. He was a car enthusiast – loving anything with an engine! He enjoyed fishing, camping, being in the outdoors, riding horses and had a great fondness for animals– more so than for people. He will be greatly missed.

Tyler is survived by a son, Tyler Young, of Tacoma, Washington; a sister, Renee (Von) Whiting, Vernal; brothers, Nelson (Juanita) Young, Salt Lake City; and John (Kit) Young, Camano Island, Washington; nieces and nephews, Natasha Peacock, Dina Cutler, Derrick Simon, and Jesse Young.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Geri; his parents; and a favorite pitbull, “Dozer.”

Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Tridell Cemetery.
