May 2, 1931 to April 11, 2023

Our beloved father and grandfather Glade W. Anderson passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 91. Glade was born on May 2, 1931, in Vernal, Utah, to Charles Fredrick and Edna Adams Anderson.
Glade married Dorothy Ann Horrocks on Jan. 3, 1951, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Glade and Dorothy celebrated 70 years of marriage together and were an example of what true love and devotion look like.
Glade embodied and always lived his life by the principles of hard work, honor, commitment, service and love.
Glade was a devoted husband, father and friend. Nothing meant more to him than his family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Glade was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished the numerous opportunities it gave him to serve others.
Glade had a passion for wood turning, gardening, bread making, and learning. He said, “No one is too old to learn, especially when you have ‘YouTube University’ at your fingertips!” Glade was an inventor and engineer of simple, and sometimes complicated things; things that made some of life’s everyday tasks easier. He also loved to travel with his wife Dorothy. Together they traveled to many destinations from Canada to Mexico, California to Maine and all points in between.
Glade made everyone he came in contact with feel loved and important. Everyone he loved became a member of his family and no one leaves behind a “family” as large as Glade’s. He will be sorely missed and has left a void in our lives that cannot be filled.
Glade is survived by two of his children, Randy Anderson and Cathy Bilbey-Kempton (Brett); and his brother, Shris Anderson (Judy). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Glade is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Fred and Edna Anderson; son, Russell Anderson; brother, Dennis Anderson; sister, Frenna Hadley; grandson, Brian Anderson; granddaughter, Cindy Hadlock; and son-in-law, Curt Bilbey.
Funeral services for Glade were on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Ashley 1st Ward Chapel, 3040 N. Vernal Avenue. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park next to his beloved wife Dorothy. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
