March 21, 1983 to March 5, 2023

David Jon (DJ) Allen, 39, of Minot, North Dakota, returned to his heavenly home on March 5, 2023.
DJ was born on March 21, 1983, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab, Utah, to Angela DeMoss and David W. Allen Jr. As a child, he was an avid outdoor lover and model little boy as he spent his time fishing, camping and playing little league baseball. His love of the outdoors would follow him through his life. Despite almost a ten-year gap, DJ adored his younger sisters and found pleasure in teasing and pranking them growing up due to his mischievous spirit.
DJ loved all of his family deeply. He didn’t know how to love any other way. He was protective of his younger sisters and would go out of his way to cheer them up when they were down. His three children were his proudest accomplishments, and he would do anything to see them smile. Becoming a dad was one of the best moments of his life and finding out he’d later be a dad to twins tickled him. Those he loved heard it often and felt it from him. A kind and generous man, DJ was the type to hold the door open for everyone and give the shirt off his back. He simply wanted to see everyone happy.
One thing that DJ loved was his work. He never shied away from hard work, choosing instead to throw his all into every challenge he faced. It’s the reason that working in the oilfield made him proud and he often commented on the satisfaction of a job well done. He preferred the long hours of backbreaking labor and being covered in dirt, making an oil rig a second home.
DJ is preceded in death by his father, David W. Allen Jr. He is survived by his mother, Angela DeMoss of Washington; his sisters, Jessica White (Jake) of Utah and Holly Warren (Vince Swain) of Oregon; his children, Ahneesia Holmes, Daiton Allen and Harmonie Allen of Utah; friend and love, Courtney Slaugh of Utah; and two little nephews; among other family and friends.
Services are pending.
Above all, David Jon Allen was loved and cherished by his family and friends and will continue to be loved and remembered fondly, keeping his spirit and memory alive.
