August 24, 1949 to March 3, 2023

Sheryl Lynn Gardner, age 73, of Vernal, Utah, passed away on Mar. 3, 2023, at Utah Valley Hospital, Provo Utah.

Sheryl was born on Aug. 24, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dahl and Elva Harris Gardner.

Sheryl served as a cook for Uintah School District for 32 years. Vernal was Sheryl’s paradise. She loved hiking, camping and arrowhead hunting with her family.

She is survived by her mother, Elva Gardner; brother, Robert Gardner; sister, Saundra Brown; seven children, Kimberlee Mitchell, Tracie Smith, Tisha and Rourk Kemp, Bryan Smith, Cory Smith and Jamie McFarland, Darren Gale and Sidney Torres, and Brady Gale; 21 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded by her father, Dahl Gardner; her nephew, Jeff Brown; her grandson, Caleb Rhoades; and granddaughter, Brandi Rhoades.

Sheryl will be sorely missed, but we are happy that she is in a beautiful place, surrounded by love. We love you, Sheryl.

A memorial service for Sheryl will be on Saturday, Mar. 11, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ashley Creek Ward Chapel, 4080 S. 2500 E., and Saturday, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
