Robert (Bob) Hanson

Robert (Bob) Hanson beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully surrounded by family and joined his wife for eternity on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023. He was born in Helper, Utah, on Jan. 13, 1942, to Joseph and Leonda Hanson. Bob married the love of his life on April 13, 1961.

His career spanned over 41 years as a director in safety for mining operations for US Steel in Somerset, Colorado, and Deserado Mine in Rangely, Colorado. Bob was the creative genius behind the stunning metal works he created at Bloom Master in Vernal, Utah. He designed stunning brackets for light posts that are now seen in cities across the U.S. and helping beautify the Basin. A talented and creative artist Bob enjoyed carving, and etching on wood, stone and horns.

He created beautiful Kachina dolls, knife handles and guns, all designed with his love of nature and cultures. His welded designs are displayed on archways leading to prominent farms and ranches across the country. Bob was known for his quick wit, contagious smile, compassionate spirit and most of all taking care of and loving his family.

Together with his wife Lois, they enjoyed a beautiful life together. Always inseparable when four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, carving, and creating art and memorabilia. Most of all, the memories that will live on forever in the hearts of their loved ones. Bob enjoyed the time and holidays he spent with his granddaughter Whitney and her family. He absolutely enjoyed watching and spending time with his great-grandkids. He loved traveling to watch his nephew Rex race and travel all over with his son Marty in the coach to visit places they dreamed of.
