May 7, 1936 to February 7, 2023

Renee` Henderson Buzarde passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, surrounded by loving family. She was born on May 7, 1936, to C. R. “Chuck” and Lillian Henderson and joined her older sister Verna. Together, they had many adventures on the mountain, camping and fishing, and driving across the country.
Renee` married John Shimmin in 1954 and was blessed with three children. Later, they divorced and Renee` married the love of her life, Buz Buzarde, gaining three children and later a son.
Renee`s volunteer work improved the world, including the American Women’s Association in Jakarta, where she transcribed braille for the blind. She transcribed braille educational books and materials for breast cancer awareness. This was recognized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She led the first Girl Scout troop in Nigeria. She loved creating art in the form of paintings, crochet, knitting and crafts of all kinds. She loved nature, including her apple-fed deer, her many dogs and the mementos she kept in the form of leaves or rocks.
Renee` traveled the globe, living in Utah, Louisiana, Texas, Nigeria and Indonesia, before retiring to “The Cabin,” in Flaming Gorge. Renee` spent much of her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking them on outings and showering them with all the love, teaching and all the treats a child could want. Renee` spent her last years in the Beehive Homes of Vernal, surrounded by amazing staff and residents who provided her invaluable love and support. The staff, owners, and other residents were all great friends.
More than anything, Renee` was a bright light, full of energy, who touched the heart of everyone she met.
Renee` was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Lillian; sister, Verna; husband, Buz; sister-in-law, Wanda; niece, Leslie; and her beloved pets.
Renee` is survived by her children, Linda Grua (Cliff), Stewart Shimmin (Kris), Verna Stills (Ty), Vern Buzarde (Rosa), Lee Gagon (Jim), Laura Buzarde, Brett Buzarde (Karen), her nephew, Mike Mealer; her brother-in-law, Dan Buzzarde (Rosa); 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and Shadow, her beloved cat.
