Utah Treasurer’s Investment Challenge winner Paxon Massey is pictured with Utah State Treasurer Marlo Oakes. Last Friday Paxon and his parents Skyler and Whitney Massey, of Vernal, attended an award banquet hosted by Oake’s in Salt Lake City. Paxon was among 4,500 students who participated in the statewide challenge, placing second in the elementary division, His investments posted a hypothetical net growth in the stock market over a 10-week period. The challenge was designed to teach children the financial framework of the stock market. Paxon also delivered a short speech on his investment strategy.
