Roof collapse at Vernal Cinemas
Theatre Reopened Friday January 20
With local snowpack being well over 200% of normal businesses have been dealing with abnormal obstacles for the last three months.
On Sunday, Jan. 15, the roof over one auditorium within the Vernal Cinemas fully collapsed.
The theater is working with the city to reopen the main part of the building, including the ticket-taking stations and concession stands, as well as the restrooms. It is working to find the best way to keep the collapsed area clear of patrons.
The cinema is working with its insurance agency to create a timeline for repairing the roof and eventually reopening the auditorium with the collapsed roof.
