The Uintah School Board voted unanimously during its April 5 business meeting to approve girls lacrosse as a sport at Uintah.

Uintah’s 5-1 start to the boys soccer season has to be one of the early season surprises in Class 5A.

Union’s Paul Squire and Justin Gillman each won two individual track and field titles, helping the Cougars claim the team championship at the Strata Invitational April 14 in Roosevelt.

The win was the first one for the Utes since a 19-2 win over Farmington, New Mexico March 17. Uintah is 5-9 on the season.

Uintah High School track and field assistant coach Caden Henderson encouraged Glines to join the program.

The Uintah High School girls track and field team tied with Syracuse for the top spot at the Taylorsville Invitational April 8.

Uintah had the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with Westlake, which is ranked No. 1 in the Class 6A Rating Percentage Index baseball standings, for a pair of games in Vernal April 7-8.
