Arnold paces Basin track athletes at state
Altamont’s Ashton Arnold knew he didn’t have a lot of chances left in his high school career to win an individual state track and field title. That changed in a big way during the Class 1A state meet at BYU May 17-18.The senior won the 1,600, 800 and was part of Altamont’s winning 4x400-meter relay. He finished a close second in the 3,200 race.“I have always been pretty good at cross country but I have never been able to win state in track,” Arnold said.
